(This is a post that was made in a forum group I belong to. I found it incredible and wanted to share it.)
Osho, why do I feel hesitation in enjoying anything?
JOY IS NOT ALLOWED -- you are preconditioned against joy. From the verychildhood you have been taught that if you are happy then something is wrong.Unhappy, then everything is good. Miserable, nobody is worried about it. But ifyou are too happy, everybody is worried about you -- you must have donesomething wrong.Whenever a child is happy the parents start looking for the cause: he must havedone some mischief or something.
Why he is so happy? THE PARENTS ARE NOT HAPPY-- THEY HAVE A DEEP JEALOUSY TOWARDS THE CHILD BECAUSE HE IS HAPPY. They may notbe aware of it, but they are jealous. And it is easy to tolerate somebody else'smisery, but it is almost impossible to tolerate anybody else's happiness.I was reading an anecdote. A very religious father was bringing up his son asperfectly as possible. One day when they were going to church he gave the boytwo coins: one, a one rupee coin; another, a one paise coin. He also gave himthe choice that whatsoever he thinks is right he can put in the donation platein the church. He could choose the rupee or the paise.Of course the father believed and hoped that he would put the rupee in thechurch plate. Because he had been brought up in such a way -- he could beexpected to, relied upon. The father waited. After church he was very curious to know what happened. Heasked the boy what he did.The boy admitted that he had donated the one paise coin and kept the rupee forhimself. The father couldn't believe it. He said, "Why? Why you did this? -- we havealways been inculcating great principles in you."The boy said, "You ask why? I will tell you the reason. The priest in churchtalked right before. In his sermon he said, 'God loveth a cheerful donator.' Icould donate the one paise coin cheerfully -- not the one rupee!"God loveth the cheerful giver.
And I am absolutely in agreement with the boy. What you do is not the question -- you are religious if you can do itcheerfully. It may be a one paise coin -- doesn't matter. It is immaterialbecause the real coin that you are giving is your cheerfulness. But from the very beginning EVERY CHILD IS TAUGHT NOT TO BE SO CHEERFUL. To becheerful is to be childish. To be cheerful is to be natural, but not civilized;to be cheerful is somehow primitive, not cultured.
SO YOU HAVE BEEN BROUGHT UPNOT TO BE CHEERFUL AND WHATSOEVER YOU HAVE EVER ENJOYED WAS CONDEMNED AGAIN ANDAGAIN.
If you enjoyed just running and shouting around the house, somebody wasbound to be there saying, "Stop that nonsense! I am reading the newspaper!"-- asif the newspaper is something very valuable.A child shouting and running is a more beautiful sight than any newspaper. Andthe child cannot understand: "Why? Why I have to stop? Why can't you stop yournewspaper reading?" And the child cannot understand: "What is wrong in my beinghappy and running?""Stop!" -- THE WHOLE CHEERFULNESS IS SUPPRESSED, THE CHILD BECOMES SERIOUS. Nowhe sits in a corner unhappy.
The energy needs movement: the child is energy, hedelights in energy. He wants to move and dance and jump and scream and shout. Heis so full of energy he wants to overflow. But whatsoever he does is wrong.Either the mother is saying, "Keep quiet," or the father, or the servant, or thebrother, or the neighbors. Everybody seems to be against his flowing energy.
One day it happened: Mulla Nasrudin's wife was very much angry. Her small boywas making too much of a nuisance, creating too much nuisance. Finally she wasexhausted and she ran after him -- she wanted to thrash him well -- but heescaped, escaped upstairs, and hid himself under a bed. She tried hard, but shecouldn't get him out. And she was a very fat woman, she couldn't get underneath,so she said, "Wait, let your father come."And when Mulla Nasrudin came, she told the whole story. He said, "You don't beworried; leave it to me. I will go and put him right."So he went upstairs, walked very quietly, looked under the bed and he wassurprised -- surprised the way the boy greeted him. The boy said, "Hello, Dad --is she after you also?!
"Everybody is after him. THE OVERFLOWING ENERGY IS LOOKED AT AS A NUISANCE. Andit is DELIGHT for the child. He doesn't ask much; he asks simply a littlefreedom to be happy and to be himself. But that is not allowed."It is time to go to sleep!" When he doesn't feel like going to sleep, it istime. He has to force himself. And how can you force sleep -- have you everthought about it? Sleep is nothing voluntary, how can you force it? He turns inhis bed -- unhappy, miserable -- and cannot think how to bring on sleep. But itis time -- it has to be brought or it is against the rules. And then in the morning when he wants to sleep a little longer -- then he has toget up. When he wants to eat something, it is not allowed; when he doesn't wantto eat something, it is forced.
This goes on and on. BY AND BY THE CHILD COMESTO UNDERSTAND ONE THING: THAT WHATSOEVER IS CHEERFUL FOR HIM HAS SOMETHING WRONGABOUT IT. Whatsoever makes him happy is wrong, and whatsoever makes him sad andserious is right and good and accepted. That's the problem. You ask, "Why do I feel hesitation in enjoying anything? "Because your parents, your society, are still after you.If you are really with me, drop all this nonsense that has been forced on you.
THERE IS ONLY ONE RELIGION IN THE WORLD AND THAT RELIGION IS TO BE HAPPY.Everything else is immaterial and irrelevant. If you are happy, you are right;if you are unhappy, you are wrong.

Eminations and Ghosts and Orbs, OH MY!
The most awsome thing happened to me last night! Bear with me a moment while I give a little background information.
I got this book called "The Orb Project by Miceal Ledwith, DD, LL.D & Klaus Heinemann, Ph.D." I read the whole darn thing in a day. It was SOOOOO interesting. This book caught my eye because 3-4 years ago, I ended up with a picture, 2 actually, in a roll of film that I didn't recognize. By the angle, I figured out that the picture was taken while the camera was sitting on top of my microwave, which is where it had been sitting for a couple weeks. I didn't take the picture and my husband and children all say that none of THEM snapped that picture.
You can see the Orb above the red coat on the door..... And the pic below is just a strange white fog. Again, no one in my house took these pictures. We don't know where they came from.
I LOVE these pictures. I've shown them to lots of people. After we bought our house in 2004, we found out that the man and woman who lived here had both died here. Not at the same time, but according to the Grand Daughter, they both passed away within a year of eachother and they both passed away laying in thier bed in the master bedroom. I'm not squeemish about this and neither is my family. Well, our first morning in our new house, I wandered out into the cluttered, box filled kitchen to make some coffee and there stood a 6 ft tall old man in blue jeans and a red flannel shirt. We hadn't heard about people having died here at this point, but I'm no dummy, and put it together pretty quick. My husband isn't a NON believer, but he's much more proof based. He denied for about a year that the old man's (Arthur) ghost was here and during this time, (I've laughed at this so many times!) of denial, it seemed that every single time my hubby filled a glass or bowl with liquid, it spilled. He dumped EVERYTHING... constantly. I even told him..... I think Arthur's a little annoyed with you... but he'd just brush it off and refill whatever had spilled.
Well, this one night, we had this whole long discussion about ghosts and spirits and things of that nature and of course, Arthur came up. He's a playful old man. He was a Grandpa and all the kids loved him. He likes to turn lights off on me or open cupboards. Silly playful things. Never threatening. Well.... it was the next day that I took this roll of film to develop and found these fantastic pictures. I told Hubby.... I think these are meant for you darlin... He's still not a blind believer, but he's much much more accepting... and the spills stopped after we got the pictures.
So... this brings me to the super cool thing that happened last night.
In this book, The Orb Project, Dr. Ledwith, among many other things, describes how he discovered that Orbs react to your intentions. The more he "INTENDED" to see them, the more there were. I thought that was very very interesting. We know that our thoughts are measurable energy, and we know that our world and worlds BEYOND ours are made of pure pulsating energy. So I suppose it stands to reason that Orbs (which the Doc refers to as Spirit Eminations.... not the spirit or ghost, but the energy that eminates from it.) can hear (?) see (?) feel (?) the energy of your thoughts and respond in kind.
Here's the experiment I decided to try:
We've lived in this house for 4 years now. All the holidays and birthdays and silly just because pictures that we've taken have never had ANYTHING funny in them. Believe me, I've looked. Since those odd pictures (up top) showed up, I've always examined every picture for Orbs or energies or whatever. Never a single thing. I decided that, if Orbs respond to intention, and Orbs are pure energy, and energy is quite litereally and completely EVERYWHERE, then if I intend to take a picture of Orbs, I should get a picture of Orbs. So I closed my eyes and pulled that wonderfully warm loving feeling into the pit of my stomach (like when I set an intention to use the Law of Attraction) and set my mind to seeing and taking pictures of Orbs in my livingroom. Then I picked up my camera and snapped a picture...... this is what was on the picture.
Upon examination, I counted 25 separate Orbs of varrying size. I was (and still am) completely FLOORED by this. Never have I seen anything like this in my home before. I continued taking pictures just for the fun of it. Many of them featured my son. It says in the book that Orbs are most often seen in lighthearted atmospheres and around children. Boy was that accurate. They loved my son.
I hope you enjoyed my pictures. I'm still so excited. I may take more pictures today. This is a fantastic example of how our surroundings and surrounding energies respond to our thoughts. I know it's sure given me a slightly different perception on The Law of Attraction. It was like having instant proof that I can create what I intend and think about. All that was used for these pictures is my Kodak Easy Share C643 camera. There HAS to be a flash. (For more on WHY you need the flash, get and read this fantastic book!) Give a try and take some pictures and see what YOUR intentions can come up with!! I'd love to see your pics and hear your feedback!
Happy Creating,
El Baugher :)

From Religion to Spirituality
I was raised in a VERY religious family. My Grandmother should have been made a Saint in my opinion. I never knew a person who did more selfless and giving things. I adored her as a child. I spent the first 6 or 7 years of my life living with her and she was my hero. I didn't understand the "why" of a lot of things she did and when I would seek explanation, she usually just said it was God's will or quoted the Bible. I learned a lot of great things from her. Much of it was directly related to religion, but the religious base knowledge has helped me find peace in my own spirituality.
Eckhart Tolle says in his book, "A New Earth", that all religions are basically the same and he's absolutely right! All religions teach the same basic rules for life. Had I not gotten the religious experience as a child, I'm not sure I'd have grasped onto Spirituality so readily. It's always seemed to me that religions left too much to "faith" or "belief". Don't do this because God doesn't want you to. How do we know? Because God told us. How do we know? Because a few thousand years ago, a bunch of people made a compilation of their own personal stories and notes and told us what God wants. How do we know it's true? We have faith. Why don't we question our existence? Because God doesn't want us to. To question is to lack faith. Now you'll go to hell. But God loves you? Huh? Sounds like the invisible man in the sky is just as indecisive as us humans. Love us or punish us... hmm... That just doesn't make any sense to me at all.
I've come to believe that God, Source, Spirit, The Universe (which I lovingly refer to as the Big U) is me. And you. We can literally manifest our desires by simply THINKING. How could we NOT be a piece of God manifest in human form? As humans, we have an amazing capacity for love and kindness. I have loved so intensely that my chest (heart center/chakra) actually ached. I've also hurt so intensely there was actual physical pain. The love is wonderful, but even the sorrow is sweet.
When my Gram died back in 1997, it broke my heart. I longed so deeply to be near her. She taught me so much and loved me so completely, I physically felt the void she'd left in my life. Even during the time of my grieving, there was a certain sweetness there. Even when my tears fell, I knew in my heart that I'd been so profoundly blessed to have had the time with her that I'd had. In life, she taught me priceless lessons about how to live my life and how to love my fellow man. Then in death, she taught me that all.... ALL things pass away and there's Joy in everything, including death, if you'll simply look.
She'd have said, "Look to God and He will give you peace and Joy in all things." and she'd have been absolutely right. She'd have looked to her invisible man in the sky while on her knees in prayer. I look inside myself and find peace in the perfection of my Spirit and instead of "prayer" I endlessly give thanks to the Big U for all the abounding blessings that rain down on me always. We may have found our peace in very different ways, but we found our peace... and isn't that the point?
Every rain drop, sun ray, car accident, death, new born baby, kiss, minute alone or with someone I love is a wonderful blessing that I wouldn't get the opportunity to experience without this wonderful life. They may all pass away, but the lessons you learn along the way are the real blessings.
May you love everything around you in the way you want to be loved. May you live your life to it's fullest potential. And may you look less to the finish and instead learn to love the ride. Even the bumpy roads. Appreciation for a smooth road can be found in traveling a bumpy one.
Peace & Love,
El Baugher
